How Does Sleeping Reader® Work?

This page will help you understand how Sleeping Reader® works and why it is the best reading program on the market today.

The Basics:
Ask any child what sound a cow makes and they will answer: “MOOO”. A child can easily remember that a cow makes a “MOOO” sound and associates a cow with the sound “MOOO”. The child can also tell you what sound a duck, horse, cat, dog, etc. makes.

The Sleeping Reader® program takes this simple technique, and brings the student through lessons that associate the names and sounds of each letter with an animal.

For an example: Alex the Antelope says “â” (the sound of the letter A).

After many repetitions of the lessons the child will begin to learn that the Antelope says “â” (the sound of the letter A). The Sleeping Reader® program will take the student through dozens of lessons where they will learn each letter sound and associate them with an animal.

Once the student knows the basics of each letter sound, the teacher will begin using the coloring/writing/alphabet exercises found on CD 4 in the Sleeping Reader® program. The student will then start to associate the sounds of each letters with the actual appearance of the letters.

As the program progresses, the student will naturally not need the animal anymore and will know that the letter A makes the sound “â” (the sound of the letter A). They will follow this progression with all of the letters and sounds in the alphabet. The student can then begin to sound out words and read.

Overall, learning to read is a 3 Step Process: (1) Learning the letter names. (2) Learning the sounds of each letter. (3) Learning the image of each letter. Most teaching methods try to teach all three steps at the same time and unfortunately many people have difficulty learning to read this way. They get confused and frustrated.

I have a young daughter named Lillian who had been struggling in her 2nd Grade Class with reading. Dear Sleeping Reader Team,

My Grandson was having issues with uppercase letters verses lowercase letters. In school he was taught to only recognize uppercase or capital letters, but when it came to reading a book that has mostly lowercase letters he would draw a blank.

This problem I found out latter is very common and is one the biggest reasons why you can not teach the visual image of the letters before you teach the sounds. You must learn the sounds of the letters and the name of the letters, and then you can be introduced to the visual image of the letters.

After the first two months of your program my grandson was finally starting to understand how to read the English language regardless of what form the letter came in.

Does Sleeping Reader® Work Better Than Phonics Courses?
Here are some of the problems with phonics programs:

1. They only work if the teacher devotes between 50 and 100 hours of time to teach the student properly. Most people do not have the time and patience to properly implement a phonics program. This time constraint is often not disclosed to the customer before they purchase the program.

2. Most of the time the teacher and/or the student gets frustrated and quits using the phonics program, well before any success is achieved.

3. Due to the problems listed above, most (somewhere around 95%-99%) of the phonics programs are either not used at all, or used once or twice before being put on the shelf. This means that most phonics programs are gathering dust instead of teaching the students how to read.

4. Most people waste their money on phonics programs. The fact that most phonics programs are not used is evidence that the $50 - $500 (or more) spent on these programs was a waste of the customers hard earned money.

5. Because of the reasons above, phonics programs do not typically help people with dyslexia, dysgraphia, learning disabilities, ADHD, adults with reading problems, or people trying to learn English as a second language.

6. The human brain advances over time and has developed past the technology of phonics. This is why a 10 year old child can master a computer or other technology in a few days where as it might take years for an adult. Phonics is an outdated technology. What Is Dyslexia
A child is considered to have dyslexia if he or she has difficulty learning to read despite having adequate intelligence, attention, motivation, and exposure to education.

Step-By-Step Easy Instructions

1. Play CD 1 at bedtime every night for 2 months (make sure CD player is set on “Repeat Mode” for all night listening).

2. If your child is able to color - print Computer Bonus Materials from CD 4 to use throughout the rest of the program.

3. After playing CD 1 for 2 months – start playing CD 2 at bedtime every night for 2 months.

4. After playing CD 2 for 2 months – start playing CD 3 at bedtime every night for 2 months.

Repeat the Entire Program as Often as You Like!

Tips For Easy Learning

Tip #1 – Face CD player towards child or listener.

Tip #2 – Remember to always have CD player in “Repeat Mode”.

Tip #3 – Keep volume soft while playing at bedtime.

We receive a lot of email questions relating to the various phonics programs (Hooked On Phonics, Zoo Phonics, Jolly Phonics, etc.) and how they compare to the Sleeping Reader® Program. Most of the emails describe the frustrations and disappointments with using the various phonics programs.

The following is an overview of the 4 CD's that are included with the program.

Sleeping Reader® CD #1

The first CD of the reading program is design to familiarize the listener with the names of the characters, the animals, and the sounds of each letter. This learning technique is based on innovative research discovered by our research team. It uses a unique and proven 3 Step learning process, repetition, and other innovative techniques to dramatically speed up the process of learning to read. When all the Sleeping Reader® techniques are applied to reading, the student is remembering the letter sounds when seeing or hearing a particular letter. Sleeping Reader® has three separate lessons on each CD , which takes the listener on an adventure from more complex letter sound associations and intricate memorized learning techniques back down to the basic letters and sounds. These lessons have been carefully placed within each CD to retain the highest capacity of attention during the sleeping state of the listener.

Sleeping Reader® CD #2

The second CD of the reading program is designed to take the listener on a fun adventure titled: let’s go camping with all of our new friends. In this lesson each character has to bring one item on the camping trip, the item will start with the letter and base sound that each of the characters represent. When all of the aspects of this lesson come together in one sentence, the listener will be introduced to a broader perspective of the individual letters and sounds. Because Sleeping Reader® uses our innovative research techniques of memorized learning, all names, animals and other words that are used to describe the individual letters and sounds will be carried throughout all three CD's and each lesson contained within.

The third CD of the reading program is an audio test that engages the listener in the letter sound association and memorized learning skills, learned within the first and second CD. This program is designed to deliver and reinforce words and sounds as they have appeared in the previous lessons. They were frustrated and their children were even more frustrated.

During this time period there was an article in the newspaper about how researchers were using subliminal nighttime learning to teach foreign languages and having great success. This was the spark he needed and Sleeping Reader® was born. Shortly thereafter, Jason Allen Miller began to assemble the Sleeping Reader® Research Team, funded the project, and began research on teaching children to read using a completely different and unique approach. Most kids start out in life with parents still telling them to “go to school, get good grades, and then get a good job.” While this may seem like good honest advice from those who love you, just the opposite is true. They still love you, but that is not good advice.

On top of this, they are dumping burden after burden upon you to attend some idealistic college that you most likely do not have the brain power to attend anyway; nor do they have the finances to support. Well into your new college classes that you have been on the verge of failing over the last year or so, you begin to realize that if college is this hard: what is it going to be like, out there in the real world!

Yes this is your billion dollar brain asking this stupid question because you have no idea what the real world is all about. At this time in your sheltered life you have probably only had a measly job at some electronics store; or flipping burgers at our ever so cherished fast foodie. But let’s face it; you have no idea what you want to be doing as a career for the rest of your life. In America we have seen a huge decline in the number of families building Financial Empires for their children and the generations to come. Because of the lack of sturdy Financial Foundations for the youth of today, each individual young adult is starting his or her life fresh from ground zero. No help has been given to these people who are out there poor and starving trying to build a life and financial security for themselves with no help from their elders.

It seems to be a trend to not set aside money or investments towards the future generations of their family, nor teach them how to be financially secure and independent from an employer.

The effect that this trend has created is catastrophic to our society of working class individuals. Let me ask you a few questions that I have had to ask myself.

1. Would I have been more successful thus far in my life, if I had $500,000.00 to start off my career with?
Yes or No

2. Would I have done things more differently if I had the financial security of an empire or money set a side for my use?
Yes or No

3. Would I be able to follow my passions if money was no object?
Yes or No

4. Would I be happier if I had been raised in a family with investments and a good financial foundation?
Yes or No

5. Would I be going to work everyday and making someone rich if I had family businesses of my own?
Yes or No

Since I was born and raised into a family who much like others did not create a Financial Empire for their children; I have had to work harder to create financial freedom for myself and my children since I had started with nothing.

Building an empire is not a hard task, it is a wise one; made from those who are considering the future of the generations to come.

Let’s say that you put away $50,000.00 in your life time, and a portion of the interest would be given to your immediate children while a portion would go back into the Empire so that it continues to grow. Now let us say that you taught your children the importance of doing the same thing for their children, and they were able to save $125,000.00 each because you had given them a better financial disposition. Thus, making each generation grow and grow and grow.

Now you can begin to see more clearly how each generation will benefit from your small efforts. My advice to you is look at your children in the eyes; and ask yourself what if?

How To Protect Yourself
Let’s face it; we are now entering the Unites States of America’s Second Great Depression. It will have devastating effects on the American people, businesses, and what is left of our growing economy.

This is not a minor problem that might limit your shopping sprees or your Starbucks coffee addiction. It is a major economic meltdown that will affect everyone and for those who are unprepared my find yourself unemployed, bankrupt, homeless, etc.

What do we have to do to protect ourselves in a crisis like this?

Follow these simple steps to reassure your survival in this bad economy.

1. You must find a means of making a secondary income or a full-time income that is worldwide, not just local, and has little to no overhead. Having a home-based business will create an income that is separate from your local economy with the advantages of having the worldwide market place at your finger tips.

2. You must watch closely at which bank you decide to put your money in; find a bank that has world wide locations or that is smaller with sound financial statements. At this moment the FDIC has exhausted its coverage abilities and may not have the funds to replace your savings if it was lost.

3. If you are getting ready to buy a new home, make sure that you could sustain the mortgage for up to 6 months with out a paycheck. Many people have already bombed this suggestion and their actions have created the housing crisis.

4. If you are a business owner or self employed, make sure that you are getting paid on time. If the payment is late, you should be implementing a more aggressive collection system. The last thing you want to do is let someone get a month or more behind, to find out that they just went broke.

5. If you are buying services on a regular basis from a company or person, make sure that they are delivering the services or product with the same quality. If any aspect of their service has changed it could be a sign of them going broke, and you do not want to be the person that paid for something and did not receive it.

6. If you rent an apartment or home, it would be an excellent idea if you watched for leans or signs that the landlord is not paying the mortgage. In repossession, you will be removed from the home when the property is taken back by the bank. This could leave you and your family without a home costing you several thousands of dollars; all while paying money to a landlord for months that he was just pocketing until the bank repossessed the building.

7. If you are an employee, beware of losing your job. If you are seeing sales decline there is a good chance that many people will be let go with no chance of returning. If you feel that you are irreplaceable and that somehow the business can not run properly with out you, think again. When a company is loosing money and needs to find a place to reduce expenses in order to continue conducting business, it is the employees who are cut first.

It is best to be prepared and learn how to protect yourself during times of economic trouble. Those take action and are prepared with fair best in the long run.

Why Do Traditional Businesses Fail? Here are a few of the overlooked reasons businesses fail.

Wearing too many hats:
This is a huge overlooked problem in the world of traditional business and can single handedly destroy a business overnight. If you are the person handling 2-5 positions within the company, and the business could not operate one or two days without you on its own; it is a matter of time before you harm yourself and ultimately the business.

A. If you get hurt or sick, your business stops. This is when the business is completely reliant on you.

B. If you are not qualified to perform certain aspects of the company (business functions): you are damaging the business structure or outside client perception.

C. Too many hours of work: you will inevitably cause yourself physical exhaustion and have a burn out rate of just a few years.

D. You may think that you are saving yourself money by not hiring the needed amount of people to perform a proper business structure, but in the end you could be hurting your growth and even preventing a higher price on the sale of your business.

Wearing to many hats is a real burden and will cause more problems within a company than you can fathom. I would suggest that if you want to move forward and have a thriving company that you budget and prepare all job duties to be delegated to someone qualified when your cash flow will sustain the expense.

2. Lack of Working Capital: This is a vital necessity in a traditional business, working capital is a word to describe a large amount of on hand cash that is set aside to handle unexpected expenses and company growth. If you are not capable of having at least one or two full months of company expenses covered by your working capital, then you could be at risk of losing everything in a blink of an eye.

A. Many businesses work on a NET 30 (payment is due within 30 days of work), but do you really get paid on time? And what happens if you don’t get paid at all?

B. There are many fixed expenses on a day to day basis called fixed overhead. These expenses do not depend on the work that you do. Many people do not understand this concept until they have to pay bills and employees from a bank account that does not have enough money in it. This causes a cash crunch and is a real problem if you do not have extra money put aside to float your business along until you receive payment from your clients.

C. Extra unexpected costs may prevent you from performing your services until fixed or corrected, if you do not have enough on hand cash you may have to borrow or shut your doors.

Working capital is prudent to any successful business and will allow you to grow and be comfortable. If you have a large reserve of on hand cash, you will never have to pass up an opportunity to expand your business while preventing cash flow problems.

3. Cash Flow problems: This is when you are not able to pay for bills, taxes, and make payroll for your employees or yourself on time. Understanding the timing of when you receive cash in your business is critical. When cash flow problems occur it can be detrimental to your company and you may not be able to recover or collect funds fast enough to keep your business from closing.

A. When you are spending or withdrawing too much from the company prematurely before you have received the payments due to you. This is a problem especially when you do not have a secondary source of emergency funds.

B. Many times cash flow problems can stem from fast growth, theft, too much overhead, taxes, not properly job costing (more money going out to employees than the job takes in or charges), accounting errors, etc.

My advice is do not deplete your bank account with credit cards, get in a habit of only taking money out one time a month after all expenses or even six times per year. This habit will give you plenty of extra money in the account and acts as working capital until you have made sure that all of your bills have been paid.

4. Rapid Growth: Rapid growth is a silent and unexpected business failure waiting to happen if not done properly. Many people do not understand the proper way to grow a business that promotes a healthy and strong business structure while increasing the revenue. The common phrase used amongst other business owner to describe a Rapid Growth failure is “too big, too fast, too soon.”

A. Before you grow you must dive deep into research on how much it will cost you to expand the area or provide a service new to your company. This will ensure that you know your real cost behind the growth, putting you in a position to decide weather you can handle the cost associated with the new growth.

B. Determine how fast you can grow with your new perspective on cost of the new growth, then make a growth plan that will walk you through each step required to make the business ready for the new growth. This can include new employees, new job descriptions, new machinery or equipment, extra inventory, transportation, signs or logo, sales material or marketing strategy, time frames, extra cash on hand to cover upfront expenses and overhead, payroll increases and website updates.

C. When getting ready to sell a business many buyers will look at a fast growth as a possible source of structural problems and may shy away from buying that business without great research. Use the 15-20% rule of growth per year unless you have professional business growth help or bring in seasoned investors. This will ensure that there are no Cash flow problems or structural problems within the business.

When I grow I always research and document every step needed to make sure nothing goes wrong and I am fully aware of all extra cost associated with the growth.

5. Poor management: This problem is one of the most common amongst all businesses including those that have already failed. A business can still grow and not be forced to close the doors like the previous problems that I have explained even when the management is poor. A business is only as good as its management and poor management will stunt the businesses growth, structural stability, hire unqualified employees and waste your profits like its going out of style.

A. Poor management has no control over the business and makes you vulnerable to collapsing of the managerial system creating BIG issues for you to deal with.

B. Many people know that the manager that they have hired isn’t qualified to do the job, but if it means that they don’t have to be the manager than it is now plausible. This thinking will turn out to be a nightmare, when the management decides to harm the business through carless actions and possibly destroying your local reputation. Then they leave you hanging with a dysfunctional system, fewer employees and possibly many unknown thefts.

My advice to you is when you know they are not cutting the mustard it is easier work getting rid of them now before they damage anything too bad, but far harder to let them stay and to correct and repair all of their irreversible damages they may have cost you money and future clientele.

Q- How bad will this economy get?

A- This downfall of the economy has really just started; in the near future you will see more local and national businesses shutting their doors, contributing the cause to many factors. Some factors may include: (1) gas prices - which hurt many services business cutting their normal profits in half or more while forcing them to pass on some of the fuel increases to the consumers (2) unemployment - which causes people to save instead of spend, hurting more businesses and leads to more people without jobs and tons of bills to pay.

Do not be fooled by the government bailouts, they are doing the same thing most people do right before they claim bankruptcy - using credit card debt to pay off your bill debt. I do not know about you, but when a government is taking on billions of dollars in debt to bail out the economy, we all need to be greatly concerned. This means the average person probably will not be clicking their ruby slippers together while repeatedly asking to be sent home; because in reality their not sleeping, but wide awake and living a nightmare.

Q- If I loose my job, how will I pay my bills while I am trying to get hired somewhere else?

A- When someone is asking me this question, I really know that they are in a bad predicament. This situation happens to be the single biggest reason why people have had financial problems and had to rely on bankruptcy (leaving hundreds of thousands of families without their homes, cars and basic amenities).

So to answer your question, yes you will loose everything if you can not figure out how to replace your income in a timely fashion. No matter how far up on the feeding chain you are; if you have no income - eventually you will not be able to pay your bills. It is very unlikely that you will find another job that will pay you in the same respect; other companies are much like the one you where fired from, and are trying to downsize their business as well.

However, for those who have a secondary income or a full-time income that is not linked directly to our local economy or a job that they will not lose; those people will fair just fine.
